This is the EL GHIA i bought of my brother a few days ago. I only have photos of it from when my bro owned it though, current ones can be expected in 2 weeks when I get home.
This is as it sits now, except for the rims..
And this is what it looked like when it was my brothers pride and joy (before his ED XR6 pushed it aside). After this he restored it to what is seen in the first 2 pics and its sat in the shed for months...
I'm hoping to get it back to 100% standard exterior eventually, with a few small adjustments. It'll be ready for roady after some new tyres and then hopefully I'll be coming on some cruises with you guys. Cheers,

Mad Man that's sweet!! I love those rims what are they called? what wheels are on it now? I think I like the rear spoiler on, well with those big rims anyway. If ya going back to standard it would look better with out It i guess. Great looking Car Man none the less.

Thanks mate, most people still don't believe it's my car (because its my first and I'm still on my Ls) and when I tell them what I payed they just call outright bullshit *shrugs*..
The rims are ANZ mayhems. I was planning on buying another set eventually but then, in my search for bare tyres to get it roadworthy, I found a set of 5 near mint (apparently) EL GHIA rims with tyres which I'm picking up next week. The rims that are on it are a cluster f*** haha, it's got 2x ED XRs, an EF fairmont and an EL GHIA... But my brother wants the ED XRs back which is kinda sad because I like them and theyve got brand new treads but anyway..
As for the spoiler, I'm still not sure. It was factory fitted so that fits with the theme I want, but, it does look slightly better with it off (on any polished/chromed rims). I guess I'll make a decision when I fit up the GHIAs. Cheers,

Ok, so I took a heap of pics thisarvo. The spoiler is still a bit iffy, I'm thinking ATM that I'll take it off when I can justify buying and repainting a new boot lid AND king spring SSLs with KONI reds to drop it on its guts because with the current suspension it just looks weird w/o the spoiler haha.
No, that's not a standard snorkel haha. It's off an AU V8 I believe..
I painted the door latch pins, before and after.
Before (mounted)
After (mounted)
And some interior shots (mind the tools, it is a project car ATM haha)
The new radio (Pioneer MVH-155UI)
My sub (Going to be replaced with a Pioneer 12" soon as it has a split/crack, still goes hard though..) bwing run off the factory amp
And my dash with EF dial needles (because orange needles are fugly)

I ment to post more but been flat out with school and actually doing stuff with the car :/. And admin would be awesome haha.
Up next is refinishing my spare set of headlights (these ones have melts from oversized high beam bulbs), followed by LED parkers and LED bulbs for the cornering lamps.

These are my big purchases from yeaterdays swap meet. 2x JENSEN JPW124s and a boxed KENWOOD KFC-W3011 for $30 and the jensens have never been taken out of the box!! I wasn't very impressed with the Kenny so I put a Jensen in my sony box and hell it goes hard. Now I need to decide if I'll go with 2 single boxes or a double box when I put the other one in.
This is the jensens just after I got home and pulled them out:
And the KENWOOD (which I'll probably put in my dads lux if my bro doesn't want it..)
And a pic of a Jensen installed:
This sub makes the entire car shake when it's barely going and that's on the factory 400w AMP running off a high-low level adapter (takes signal from speaker, puts it through an RCA plug). Can't wait to see how the pair go with signal direct from the head unit and a 1000w AMP .
Also, I cleaned out one of our garden sheds yesterday to make a parts room, I think it turned out fairly well..
Now I don't have to skavenge around the workshop if I need a car part haha. Cheers,

To say I can't wait to get them set up right is an understatement haha. So far this system has cost me $100 and it destroys my brothers $350 system which goes to show that new isn't always best (hell, that's the way it is with our cars right?). Another $100 and it'll be perfect.
I had a fun day of armouraling my plastics today, hopefully it's enough to save some hardening trims... No pics because it's not really noticeable haha.
Also, just realized I haven't posted the results from my afternoon spent cleaning my headlights so I will post some pics of that ASAP. Cheers,

I finally got around to putting in the new headlights. Took a few progress pics throughout the process: This was the scene after getting the bumper off (took me about 45min)
Old lights off and looking tough
New lights on (at this point I found out I had no parkers... Luckily it was just a loose spade connector haha)
I thought about leaving it like this until I get it regoed so I could paint the severely scratched bumper but decided to just take it off again when I'm ready
And then all back together after a bath because she was getting a thick layer of dirt on her
All lights working perfectly
It was unusually shiny this time.. Must've been because I shammied it straight away and didn't wait half an hour like last time hahaha
I now have a car cover on the car (which is waaay to small but still covers most of the car) so I shouldn't need to wash her for a while.
And, in the sad news, I've lost my second jensen sub and box... It has literally dissapeared into thin air... I know it wasn't solen because it was sitting with lots of other valuable stuf that's still there. None of us know where it is so I'm really hoping it turns up somewhere soon or I'll have to buy another matching pair of something else..... Thanks for looking. Cheers,

She's on the road now, just waiting until I get my Ps (this Friday) and an event to come up
A bit of a belated post:
The boot light was looking crap so I used up my brothers spare RGB strip. Purple turned out the best.
This is her on the way to get a roady... Which it failed :/.
She had a P/S leak (high pressure hose was stuffed, replaced with new), gearbox leak (torque converter seal and pump seals needed replacing), hand brake needed adjusting, and back tyres were worn.
After getting everything fixed, she was roadworthy and she's registered (with limited edition plates ).
Then the diff was weeping oil, so that got cleaned up and filled with stop leak.
next on my list is custom window switches, then a set of 225/60R15s on the back.. if I can find a decent looking tyre in that size :/

Thanks mate. Yeah, she's a bit more well built than the usual P plate cars (excels, pulsars, VS commodores, etc), but it's still not quite there yet. And the LSD is working again now. Thought to myself "wouldn't it be awesome if that oil stabilizer fixed the LSD" and whadda ya know, it did!
As for the new window switches, it all started with this:
One of many test fits:
The complete unit (decided to add a 12v socket to connect to constant power for charging my phone):
What it looks like underneath:
And what it looks like all mounted up:
It would be fully installed but I ran out of crimp on terminals, electrical tape and solder :/ I still have to polish the scratches out of the switch plate but it's come up great so far IMO. Cheers,
